I have to be honest, I'm not a fan of New Year's. I always feel like New Year's should be spent partying with friends while wearing a cocktail dress, sipping champagne and there's that magical moment at the strike of twelve where everything is right in the world as you embrace the one you love. . . But since I don't actually own a cocktail dress, nor do I drink, and I can't stay awake much past 10 pm, New Year's is usually spent watching several movies, eating absurd amounts of junk food, falling asleep on the couch, waking up for the countdown, kissing Matt and then collapsing into bed. So unromatic. Oh well. Maybe next year.
It was my initial intention to take a picture at the stroke of midnight - what better way to start off this project, right? Yeah, that didn't happen. I was far too sleepy and the half a bag of Cheetos and several glasses of diet Dr. Pepper I consumed earlier were doing a tango in my stomach by midnight. So no cool midnight picture. But it was still fun to hang out with family, and despite falling asleep, we did have a good time.
So, pictures for the week. I must admit I was so excited about Downton Abbey Season 3 starting yesterday that I forgot to take a picture. I will improve. I'm not sure that any of my pictures are amazing, or even good. But that's the point of all of this, to practice and get better right? If anyone ever has any comments on how to improve, I would welcome your suggestions! Also, judging by how this week went, I fear that there will be a lot of pictures of Alex on here. I'm sorry if I turn into one of those people who constantly refer to their children, but seriously, it is way too cold to go outside and he is the most exciting thing to photograph around our house. Without further ado, here are the top pictures of the week.
Breakfast time.
You know it's cold when you have 4 foot icicles hanging off your house.
Never ending home improvement projects.
One additional note: I have absolutely no idea what to entitle each post. I feel like I should come up with some cool name for each week, but I'm not feeling nearly that creative today. Suggestions would be appreciated. :)
Happy photographing!
Ooooh I like the icicles! And Alex is the perfect subject because he's so cute!
ReplyDeleteI was actually thinking about your photo project today, so I was very excited that you posted. Keep it up!
